I put on my grumpy pants and wore them all weekend

just in case we ever live together and then move,
I'm not a happy mover.
at all.

when I told my mom this on the phone, her response was laughter and "you and your dad!" so I guess it runs in the family.
but really.
the packing, cleaning, sorting, throwing away, cleaning, unpacking, cleaning... the stress just gets to me!
my lack of patience, not so lady-like exclamations, and snarky comments were all very apparent.
{and so patiently put up with by carly and ky}
but thanks to strong men and friends that stopped by, the whole ordeal went a lot faster.

circumstances weren't the greatest, but I chose not to be happy. I let myself get swallowed up in my lengthy to-do list and stack of boxes.
but today is a new day
a fresh start.
and I'm going to choose happiness
{and hope that I never have to move an entire house}

  1. I like that despite your times of trial, you chose happiness. Because it is so true. No one has the capability to make your world better, but you :)

  3. Moving is SO not fun. Sometimes I just wish I could snap my fingers like Mary Poppins and have it all done with! But way to keep the positive attitude!

  5. I actually counted one day long ago and realized I had moved house TWENTY-SIX times before I was married. Of course, all I had to pack then was my bedroom (or dorm/apartment room). Then I experienced my first post-marriage move. Oh.My.Gosh! I remember wishing for my mom and her packing skills. We have only moved house eight times with you kids, albeit three of those moves were international. May your moves be few and as untraumatic as possible (even your Dad finally learned to be civil/helpful for our last move--whew!)
